Once in a blue moon, we'll stumble into a crystal that is too hard to pass by, and even harder to part ways with. This is one of those pieces.
Angel Wing Calcite is quite uncommon to come by. Its name is a description of the crystal habit, or growth patterns, the mineral is typically observed growing; layers of lustrous sheets of white overlapping one another like the wings of a bird.
But what makes this piece ever more rare is that this is the only Angel Wing Calcite piece we've ever seen that takes on the shape of not just a wing, but literally an entire angel.
This piece features two complete angel wings spread out in a protective stance, and a properly proportioned head and face. There are inclusions of Mica found near the underside of the wings. The angel is looking downward and to the side - in a very similar way that the Virgin Mary is often depicted. It appears she is looking at a tablet, or book, which is fastened to the front of her body.
The energy emanating from this stone is unbelievable, perhaps even overwhelming. It glistens in the sunlight, and even shimmers with a faint rainbow aura.
If you're looking for divine and protective energy, look no further. But buyer beware, this is not a beginners piece, for the energy is too intense to not know how to harness it.
